I relish the challenge of helping private & commercial clients solve legal problems and disputes or "litigation". Traditionally this involved going to Court. However, litigation can be both expensive and risky. By "risky" I mean that the outcome of any Court proceedings can be very difficult to predict and so my aim always is to try to work with my clients to find solutions which work for them and which avoid the need for Court proceedings wherever possible.

I deal with a wide range of general disputes which include:

-Inheritance Act claims & disputes about Wills & other Probate issues

- Property disputes

- Breach of Contract, Money & general Consumer claims

- Defendant Personal Injury

- Professional Negligence

- Employment disputes – for both employers & employees

- Welfare Benefits

I joined Burn & Co in July 2015 qualifying as a solicitor in 2011. Before training as a solicitor, my early legal career was in Social Welfare & Employment law, working firstly in the charitable sector and then establishing and managing a Welfare Rights Service for Darlington Borough Council.

My interests outside of work include cycling & following the fortunes of Middlesbrough Football Club.
